Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made his name with a series devoted to storefront display dummies, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law plunges into clean, dark universes inhabited by suspended ghostlike silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent crossing, at the border of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 A.P. artist proofs, signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear hanger. Printing on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with UV and moisture-resistant soft lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a short story collection, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
