Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

A multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on the gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Urban Geometry

This series explores stylized urban landscapes through colored squares arranged in stair-step compositions. Inspired by Cubism, it plays on repetition of shapes and the balance of volumes.
Each work evokes a reinvented village, between architectural structure and poetic abstraction.
The colors add rhythm and warmth to these orderly constructions.
The whole creates a contemporary and graphic vision of the city, both rigorous and lively.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with flexible anti-UV and anti-humidity lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great resistance over time, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual work, he develops authorial and musical projects including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photobook and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
