Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known through a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence led to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection.

New series –Urban Geometry

This series explores stylized urban landscapes through colored squares arranged in stair-step compositions. Inspired by Cubism, it plays on the repetition of shapes and the balance of volumes. Each work evokes a reinvented village, between architectural structure and poetic abstraction. The colors bring rhythm and warmth to these orderly constructions. Taken together, they create a contemporary, graphic vision of the city, both rigorous and vibrant.

Edition & Manufacturing

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and moisture-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability, and a modern, contemporary appearance.

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops authorial work and music, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
