Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Urban Geometry

This series explores stylized urban landscapes through colored squares arranged in staircase-like compositions. Inspired by Cubism, it plays with the repetition of forms and the balance of volumes.
Each work evokes a reinvented village, between architectural structure and poetic abstraction.
The colors bring rhythm and warmth to these orderly constructions.
Together they create a contemporary and graphic vision of the city, at once rigorous and vibrant.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft laminate that is UV- and humidity-resistant, guaranteeing excellent durability, great long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops a writer’s and musician’s practice including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
