Jardinière - Cast brass

A classic Art Nouveau brass centerpiece bowl (also called a jardinière or coupe), likely dating from around 1895–1915 — the height of the Art Nouveau movement.

The surface shows an aged brass finish with expressive texture, enhancing its sculptural depth and period character.

The central relief figure is a young woman with flowing hair and a necklace, emerging from flowers — a quintessential Art Nouveau motif representing nature and femininity intertwined. The flanking handles are sculpted as large open flowers or poppy/iris blooms, and the feet are formed from organic, leafy scrollwork. Unsigned.
