"The sculpture reminds me of the principle that animates Donatello's Prophet Habakkuk, for whom the divinity of man is evident in reason regardless of physical appearance, deliberately emphasized to stress equal intellectual dignity. In this work, however, the Gothic verve of the gaze or the half-closed mouth guides us to our most unsettling inner truth, to being what we are in both good and evil."
Vittorio Sgarbi.
