Description
Elegant Art Nouveau/Jugendstil desk inkstand, made of patinated bronze-colored spelter metal alloy with refined naturalistic decoration.
The base is richly ornamented with vegetal elements and a mythical figure of a faun/satyr, a typical Symbolist iconography widespread in European artistic production from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
In the center is the original faceted glass vase with a metal stopper, intended to hold ink.
The piece represents a classic desk accessory of its time, intended for professional offices or executive desks.
