Six-piece Art Nouveau wine glasses in emerald green solid-coloured crystal glass, circa 1900–1910, 17.7 cm high and 7.7 cm in diameter, attributed to the Bohemian Meyr’s Neffe region in the Czech Republic, with a palm-cut body flowing into a diamond-cut lattice and a six-faceted stem, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Six-piece set of antique Art Nouveau wine stems from around 1900, made of emerald-green solidly colored crystal glass with a very fine wall thickness of about 1 mm. The dome shows a flowing transition from deep palm-cut to a fine diamond-cut lattice, combined with a hand-set six-faceted stem. The rim is flower-shaped and follows in a wavy form the geometry of the palm-cut as evidence of elaborate manual bow-cut work at a goblet diameter of 7.7 cm. The foot is highly arched with a dome-shaped polished pontil scar as proof of early manufacture using a pontil iron. The glass height is precisely 17.7 cm with no noticeable tolerances, indicating excellent craftsmanship. Under UV light the material shows no fluorescence, ruling out uranium oxide. The set is in an age-appropriate very good condition, with one glass showing under magnification a minimal flea bite and a fine scratch probably caused by a ring on the outside near the rim. Due to the high quality and form, the set is attributed to the Bohemian manufactory Meyr’s Neffe. Shipping is securely packed, insured and trackable; shipping overseas is not available.
