Description from the seller
Here is a proposal for a review of this third piece, maintaining consistency with the previous ones while highlighting the different psychological and visual approach:
Artwork Review: "Portrait" (2022)
Title: Portrait
Dimensions: 50x30 cm
Technique: Oil on canvas
Year: 2022
Exhibition: Solo show "Epimeteo"
In this rendering of the theme of the "Portrait", the artist introduces a significant contextual and conceptual variation compared to the other pieces in the "Epimeteo" series. The figure is captured in a moment of deep introspection: the zenithal viewpoint (from above) and the gaze directed downward amplify the sense of enclosure and reflection characteristic of the reference myth.
In the background, the contrast returns between wild nature — represented by the dense lines of grass — and a sky dominated by cloud formations charged with warm, almost crepuscular tones. The oil technique here is particularly effective in modeling the volumes of the face and bust, giving the figure a sculptural solidity that seems to emerge with effort from the surrounding natural context.
The work is frameless.
