Description from the seller
Title: Earth 2026 (2026)
Medium: Hand-cut stencil graffiti, acrylic spray-paint on cardboard
Dimensions: 33 x 50 cm
Artist: AC
In Earth 2026, the planet is no longer a symbol of unity or life, but a volatile object—held in the hands of an alien observer, transformed into a bomb with a burning fuse. The image captures a moment suspended in tension: the fuse is lit, yet the outcome remains uncertain.
By placing Earth in the grasp of an external, seemingly more advanced being, the work invites a shift in perspective. From afar, humanity’s internal conflicts, geopolitical tensions, and escalating crises appear not as isolated events, but as collective self-destruction. The alien does not act—it simply holds the planet, as if waiting, observing, or perhaps judging.
The cardboard surface underscores the fragility of our world, while the immediacy of stencil graffiti reinforces the urgency of the message. Bright, saturated colors contrast with the ominous symbolism, echoing the surreal contradiction of a world that continues as normal while standing on the brink.
Earth 2026 reflects a global state defined by instability, where the future of the planet feels precariously close to detonation—yet still, just barely, within our control.
AC is a Belgian contemporary artist known for his highly detailed, hand-cut stencil works that bridge street art and fine art. His practice reinterprets historical imagery and current events through a sharp, often satirical lens, addressing themes such as power, conflict, and the human condition. By combining labor-intensive stencil techniques with bold visual storytelling, AC creates works that are both technically intricate and conceptually provocative. His artworks have been exhibited in galleries and collected internationally, gaining recognition for their unique fusion of classical references and modern urban expression.
