Introduction José Soler:

Explanation of the work:
Steel is one of the hardest and most resistant materials we have. As a master of steel, I am used to feeling its hardness and strength, and when I see that strength represented in the essence of metal sculptures, but with this new collection I want to do the opposite, something even more complicated, which is to endow it with sensitivity and mislead the viewer by showing a sculpture made from hard, resistant steel that looks like silk, that appears as a delicate and elegant piece, simple and delicate yet at the same time visually powerful.
These are stainless steel pieces finished with reliefs and with meticulous attention paid to every detail. With them I seek a more relaxed elegance and the desire to create a deception in the viewer’s mind as an optical illusion.
They are forged with the utmost care, in an idyllic setting, in complete connection with steel and art. They are born with the sound of every fold, of strength and delicacy, and from there the moves of their apparently wrinkled and open movements flow.
I am drawn to artisanal and disruptive designs, so, with these vertical, wall-mounted sculptures, I focus on becoming part of a new reality, where color, texture, and sinuous forms are sought. Who would say this is steel? These sculptures, with a magically wrinkled appearance, lead me to revere this primitive material, for it makes everything possible, without limits to creation or creativity. Even steel can seem as light as silk.
The piece plays a mirror-effect game that makes the light bounce and creates spectacular plays of light and shadow. Creating a sculpture at the forefront of contemporary art.
They hang easily like a painting.
