Medsan’s portrait-format giclée titled Lost Giant Pikachu (迷子の巨大ピカチュウ), hand-signed, 40 × 60 cm, edition limitée number 1, from 2026, in excellent condition, produced in France for direct sale by the artist and depicting a pop art mashup of Pikachu in a wintry Edo-era landscape.
Description from the seller
With this portrait-format work (40 × 60 cm), Medsan offers a striking mashup that pairs the most famous icon of modern Japanese pop culture with the melancholic poetry of a winter landscape from the Edo era. The giclée depicts a gigantesque Pikachu, towering like a kaiju (giant monster) in the middle of a traditional snow-covered village.
The emotion of the composition lies in the contrast between the harmless nature of the character and the consequences of its size. The electric giant with bright yellow fur, frozen under the snowfall, wears an expression of confusion, sadness, and deep solitude. At its feet, the visible result of its clumsiness is a wooden thatched-roof house, entirely crushed and dislodged. The footprints in the snow and the total absence of human presence emphasize that the villagers fled, leaving the creature alone to face its accidental disaster.
The impact of the composition is magistrally highlighted by a cool, desaturated color palette — dominated by grays, nocturnal blues, and the white of the snow — which makes the central yellow figure stand out even more. The bold linework strictly adheres to the codes of ukiyo-e prints, recalling Hiroshige’s famous winter scenes, while injecting a dramatic pop-art dimension. The traditional vertical cartouche, placed this time at the top left, houses the artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン) and anchors the work in its timeless style.
A conceptual piece, at once aesthetic, poetic, and tinged with black humor, ideal for bringing a pop, graphic, and deeply narrative touch to a design-conscious, contemporary interior.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a vibrant and plural contemporary creation. Set up as a true production space, the studio operates both as collaborative creation and as individual approaches, depending on the projects and artworks. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a figurative contemporary painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, Brut art, and figurative abstraction. Each piece is conceived, created, and supervised within the studio, sharing a common artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
