ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“The Declaration” captures a timeless moment — the fragile intensity of first love, suspended between innocence and courage.
The scene depicts a child kneeling, offering a heart to a young girl. A simple gesture, yet deeply universal. It speaks of vulnerability, sincerity, and the beauty of expressing emotions without filters.
The color palette is deliberately soft and atmospheric, dominated by shades of blue that create a calm, almost poetic background. This serenity is contrasted by vibrant orange drips, bringing a raw, urban energy that disrupts the stillness — like emotion breaking through silence.
The composition plays on contrast: tenderness versus boldness, purity versus street expression. This duality is at the core of my work.
Created using my signature double-layer stencil technique, the artwork was first designed digitally, then entirely hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. The fine details of the figures contrast with the spontaneous, textured background, giving depth and movement to the piece.
This artwork resonates both emotionally and visually, making it a powerful statement piece that connects instantly with the viewer.
This is a unique, original artwork. Even when the same stencil is reused, each background is entirely different, making every piece one of a kind.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist whose work blends street art aesthetics, digital design and traditional craftsmanship. His stencils are digitally designed and then hand-cut with precision.
His artistic approach is based on the dialogue between control and spontaneity. The stencil provides structure and detail, while the background is created instinctively, allowing textures and emotion to emerge — a philosophy he defines as “originality in repetition.”
He has created murals across France and performs live painting for weddings and corporate events, bringing his urban artistic universe into diverse environments.
All artworks are original pieces — no prints, no editions.
