Biography

Andrea Oliva was born in Milan on 15/02/1973.
He attends the classical high school then decides to follow his instinct, leaves the gymnasium and enrolls at the Caravaggio Art High School where he graduates in 1992 and subsequently at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, he plays in several musical groups, drums and guitar, simultaneously attends the studios of established artists and begins a long period of collaboration with some of them, from whom he learns the specific techniques of sculpture. He also works for a period at the historic plasterwork studio "Fumagalli e Dossi". He begins a steady series of solo exhibitions, the first in 1994 and group ones, participates in sculpture symposia and contests, becomes also an artist member of the Museo della Permanente in Milan, he also dedicates himself to painting and to writing poems some of which are published in specialized journals.
He carries out on commission the diplomas/plaques for the doctorate in chemical sciences and in industrial chemistry for the University of Milan (2004) and for the University of Insubria (Varese–Como) (2005).
He has created several public monuments; one of the most important is a sepulchral monument located at Milan’s Cimitero Maggiore.
