regarded by most as the greatest egyptologist of all time, replete with thousands of illustrations.
Budge was Keeper of the Egyptian and Assyrian Antiques in the British Museum.
He is most well known for his extensive studies of the Rosetta Stone and his translation of "the book
of the Dead" from the Papyrus of Ani in the British Museum.
Budge traveled extensively throughout Egypt and the Sudan.
This work details extensively the ancient monuments and ongoing excavations of the area but also covers
the more recent history of the region, from the Roman and early Mohammedan periods up to the contemporaneous British control of the Sudan.

Both books with maps and a number of fold-outs complete and in pristine condition.
