Dip in the Pool, a 1970 oil on canvas landscape by the Spanish School (XX), from Spain, 55 × 46 cm.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas – Spanish School, second half of the 20th century
Dimensions: 55 × 46 cm
Signature: present on the back Carme Espel (1926-2012)
Suggestive natural landscape of Iberian origin, characterized by a vibrant and immediate painting, in which light and color become absolute protagonists of the composition. The scene depicts a wooded corner crossed by a watercourse, animated by the presence of a female figure captured in a moment of quiet, immersed in nature.
The work stands out for a rapid and tactile brushstroke, built from bright and juxtaposed color touches, which convey the visual impression more than descriptive detail. This technique, together with the atmospheric rendering and the search for natural light, clearly recalls the principles of Impressionism, a movement born in the second half of the nineteenth century and based on capturing the “fleeting moment” through color and luminous vibration.
A piece with pleasant decorative impact, capable of conveying a sense of freshness and natural harmony, ideal for collectors and lovers of 20th-century landscape painting.
