Description from the seller
Overview
This is a characterful antique hunter-case pocket watch distinguished by its highly legible dual-time dial. The combination of black 12-hour numerals and red 13 to 24 hour numerals gives it a strong period look and a very practical visual identity. Fitted with a Zenith movement, it has the honest mechanical appeal and period presence that make antique pocket watches so engaging. Its strongest appeal lies in the bold 24-hour dial design combined with the substantial presence of a large hunter-case watch.
Technical and condition details
This is an antique hunter-case pocket watch with crown winding, central hour and minute display, and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock.
Running when tested. No long-term accuracy test has been performed.
The dial has a white outer field with black Arabic hour numerals, while the central area is finished in a warm gilt tone and printed with red 13 to 24 hour numerals. This gives the watch a particularly distinctive dual-time appearance. The subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock adds to its classic mechanical layout. The hands are fine and decorative in style. The dial remains visually appealing overall, though there is age-related wear, including visible surface loss, wear, and small signs of ageing around the centre, near the subsidiary seconds, and in a few localised areas.
The movement is a Zenith movement, clearly signed ZENITH, with movement number 1934269. The layout is clean and well proportioned, with a classic Swiss pocket watch architecture.
The inside of the case is stamped GUARANTEE 20 YEARS and numbered 3663350, indicating a period guarantee case. The case is preserved in pleasing condition overall, and there is no brassing visible. The edges, hinges, and inner surfaces show normal wear, light scratches, and old watchmaker service marks consistent with age and use.
Diameter approximately 50.25 mm.
Weight approximately 103.056 g.
