My work on the portrait (usually in oil painting) always starts with a sketch, in charcoal and then in acrylic, then comes the oil work. On this series I stopped before the last phase, judging the work more than sufficiently expressive, which reminded me of the work of Bernard Buffet, of whom I am an unwavering admirer.
