Menashe Kadishman (1932–2015) – Attributed – Expressive Sheep – Large Format 126 x 95 cm

Large-format, expressive painting in the unmistakable style of Menashe Kadishman. The work shows one of the iconic sheep motifs for which the Israeli artist is internationally known. The representation is deliberately reduced and emotionally condensed – with strong, impasto brushwork, dynamic brushstrokes and intense colorfulness. Especially characteristic are the spontaneous, gestural lines and the raw, immediate painting technique.

The composition has a strong presence and, due to its large format, appears especially impressive in the room.

The work was purchased in Tel Aviv and has been in private ownership since then. On the front signed “M. Kadishman”. On the back there are additional drawing elements as well as an additional signature and spontaneous sketches, which occurs occasionally in Kadishman’s works.

There is no certificate or proof of purchase. The work is therefore offered as “attributed to Menashe Kadishman”.
