My work on portraiture (generally in oil painting) always begins with a sketch, in charcoal, then in acrylic, after which comes the oil painting. In this series I stopped before the final phase, judging the work more than sufficiently expressive, reminding me of Bernard Buffet's work, of whom I am an unconditional admirer.
