Description
Beautiful hand-painted wooden serving tray in traditional Hindelooper style, made in the Netherlands, mid-20th century (circa 1950–1970).
The tray has a characteristic oval shape with a gracefully wavy edge and open handles. The top is finished in a deep Hindelooper red and richly decorated with a central floral motif and a finely painted little bird, surrounded by floral ornaments and a subtle gold-colored border decoration.
The exterior is painted black. The underside bears a gold-colored pattern.
This is handmade work (not print), visible in the brushstrokes and color gradations in the flowers and the bird motif.
