Title: "Observed"
Description:
Sometimes a single glance is enough to create the feeling of not being alone anymore. In this work, an eye seems to emerge from the chaos of colors – raw, agitated, and alive at the same time. Black lines break open like thoughts finding their way outward, while the bold pink pulses like a heartbeat in the middle of the image.
"Observed" plays with a feeling that everyone knows: the quiet moment in which you sense that someone or something is watching you. The eye does not appear clear or complete – it arises from movement, from splashes, from traces of an impulsive moment. This keeps open whether we are looking at the eye or whether it is looking at us.
The painting reminds us that seeing is always a dialogue as well. Between the work and the viewer a quiet tension arises – a silent exchange of glances. And perhaps that is exactly the moment when art comes alive.

The canvas is delivered rolled.
Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, predominantly created with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by a minimalist, abstract style, crafted from high-quality materials to ensure vibrant colors and longevity. In his art he frequently engages themes such as identity, memory, and the exploration of human emotions, often pushing the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, blending painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This unique style has earned him recognition both in Austria and internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia. His works often invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of the human experience.
For a painting with the dimensions 160 x 110 cm, you need a canvas stretcher of the size 150 x 100 cm and a depth of 2-4 cm.
You can then either simply stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an artisan or gallery professional.
This is a handmade original, which is signed by the artist on the back and dated by year.
High-quality and light-fast acrylic paints have been applied to multiple white-primed gallery canvases.
A varnish has also been applied to protect the work.
This work is handmade and therefore unique!
--- Authenticity certificate included ---
Beautify your private residence, law firm, practice, or office and elevate your spaces in an elegant and stylish way.
When a person goes into his innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden, waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, even painfully uplifted, then art is born.
