Description from the seller
Rare and fascinating Italian advertising poster signed with the pseudonym “Lupa,” an artist active in commercial graphics between the 1930s and 1940s.
Note: This is a later edition probably from the 1970s.
The work promotes the “Duplex” system, with a composition extremely captivating and iconic: the caricatured face, the lively expression and the dynamic gesture create an immediate visual impact, typical of advertising communication of the period.
The style recalls the great tradition of Italian billboard art between the two wars, with influences between Art Deco and industrial graphics, characterized by solid colors, strong contrasts and an image construction designed to catch the eye from a distance.
