Beautiful oil on canvas by the Belgian painter Leo Jordaens.
Leo Jordaens is a Belgian painter born in 1944 in Merksem and who died in 2000 in Antwerp. Son and pupil of Leon Jordaens; subsequently he developed autodidactically. He painted, among other things, landscapes, coastal scenes with small boats, seascapes, and still lifes with flowers. His works are characterized by expressive cloud masses and a striking play of light and color. From the press: ‘L. J. is a born colorist. He loves cadmiums, but works only in a trio of tones – for example red, yellow and blue – that build up the painting entirely (…) In his work nature, the open space lives. He has eliminated people. You see crops, trees (especially pollarded willows), haycocks, hooves that reflect themselves, ships, a river bend, the city skyline, the harbor activity, industry and the winter atmosphere passing before your eyes. Signed L. Jordaens. He worked in Deurne. Mentioned in Two Centuries of Signatures by Belgian Artists. (Piron)
Carefully packed and shipped, but of course it can also be picked up.
