Cehere presents an original 25 x 25 cm mixed media artwork titled SMILE SIMULATOR on canvas board, created in 2026 in the Art populaire and Culture Pop vein, with acrylic paint, acrylic ink, marker and collages, non-framed and signed, in an Original edition sold directly by the artist, weighing 500 g.
Description from the seller
Artist: Cehere
This original work on cotton canvas is part of a contemporary approach blending street art, pop art, and graphic abstraction. Through the integration of a revisited iconic character, the artist questions the notion of staging emotion and social simulation.
The exaggerated smile and the almost performative posture of the character contrast with a richly textured environment of textures and collages, evoking a fragmented reality. The addition of the text “SM1LE_SIMULATOR.EXE” introduces a critical reading: that of a programmed emotion, a conditioned behavior, at the boundary between authenticity and artificiality.
The background, worked in layers of acrylic paint, acrylic ink, marker, and collages, develops a dense visual language where graphic motifs, geometric shapes, and organic textures interact. This tension between decorative surface and conceptual content reinforces the ambiguity of the work.
At the crossroads of street art, contemporary pop art, and narrative abstraction, this piece questions our relationship to image, to identity, and to social codes in an aesthetics that is at once playful and critical.
Features:
• Size: 25 x 25 cm
• Support: cotton canvas
• Techniques: acrylic paint, acrylic ink, marker, collages
• Artwork sold unframed
• Unique piece
This work is part of a series exploring the notion of simulated behaviors and programmed emotions, through a visual language blending popular culture and digital codes.
