Description from the seller
Exceptional pocket watch, in 18-carat gold. The first cover in gold, numbered 28023, plus 2 hallmarks. The second cover, in gold-plated metal. The dial has a guilloché decoration of flowers and scrolls, on a circular background. Guilloché dial with Roman numerals. Sweep seconds hand, engraved beneath the seconds hand, Badollet Geneva, the case edge finely chiselled, with three friezes of scrolls. The back guilloche is adorned with a blind escutcheon. Mechanical movement, signed Badollet Geneva, key-wind. Diameter 4.4 cm; thickness 0.99 mm. Gross weight 49 grams. Condition in very good condition and in perfect working order. The movement testifies to exceptional savoir-faire, with components carefully crafted and assembled with very high precision. It is also a bridge‑movement (ponts) endowed with numerous jewels to limit friction (often called a gilded bridge), typical of Swiss precision watchmaking of that era. Its mechanism is visually identical to those associated with prestigious houses, such as Patek Philippe (notably for retailers like Rodane or Louis Audemars & Co.). This movement features an anchor escapement and is equipped with many jewels to reduce friction. A single key to wind the watch and set the hands.
