Description from the seller

"Trapped in the Dream" – Limited edition (100 copies) - New collection 2026
Edition number: 04/100
Artist: SKE
Publisher: Atelier Montmartre Paris
Art paper 300 g/m² – ISO A3 format – Signed, numbered – Certificate included

In Trapped in the Dream, SKE twists Mickey, the universal icon of innocence, childhood and the happy imaginary. Usually associated with dreams and carefree days, the character here finds himself trapped by a very different promise: money.

Lying on a pile of bills, Mickey embodies the silent slide between a child’s dream and an adult’s dream. What used to reassure now comforts, but immobilizes. Comfort replaces freedom, almost naturally, without violence.

Through this contrast, SKE questions our relationship to success and the famous American dream. When the childhood icon ends up trapped, the message is clear: even the purest dreams can turn into golden cages.

Pop style, strong cultural references and street energy sign a work that is both playful and lucid.

A piece that makes you smile first… before it makes you think.

- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and multi-skilled creator who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.

He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with a double meaning, marry the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" in October, and also featured in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been exhibited in major venues across Europe, the United States and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE is also making his mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, enhancing the appeal of his creations among collectors.

Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture plays define a style that has become essential.

SKE is, without a doubt, an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with growing value.

Famed & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art

A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
SKE’s work fits into a prestigious lineage. In his line, one can discern the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversiveness of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to twist Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or the deconstructed forms of Picasso to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr. Brainwash or Kaws.

POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA
Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and superheroes is omnipresent: from Nintendo’s world and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel superhero stable. SKE crystallizes these memories in the style of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.

LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY
In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The dollar symbol sits alongside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: the sneaker universe (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art with textured finishes that sometimes evoke the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.

This artwork is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
