Description from the seller

A particularly elegant and rare piece of furniture that harmoniously combines functionality and refinement: this characterful corner table with integrated storage, originally designed as a sewing box or sewing table.

Made of solid oak and finished in a warm, deep shade, this object reflects the quality and artisanal tradition of the early 20th century. The subtly carved panels with Gothic-inspired arch motifs refer to the influence of the Arts & Crafts movement, which emphasized craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetics.

The hinged top reveals a surprisingly refined interior with original compartmentalization. A typical feature of sewing furniture from this period, intended for the careful storage of threads, sewing accessories, or correspondence. The slender, turned legs and the triangular lower shelf give the whole a light, architectural elegance, while the form fits perfectly in a corner arrangement.

This type of furniture originated in Western Europe, particularly in England and the Netherlands, circa 1920–1930, where it was a beloved part of the living room or ladies' study.

A charming and versatile object that today can serve as a side table, storage cabinet, or decorative statement, an authentic piece with soul and history
