Description from the seller

Pocket-sized gilded tin devotional altar, Madonna delle Tre Fontane, 1920s/1930s

Fascinating and rare domestic altar from the Art Deco era (1920s/1930s), crafted with refined work in gold-toned thin sheet metal. This small object of private devotion represents a classic example of early 20th-century popular sacred art.

Main Features:
Design in Triptych: The altar is equipped with an elegant pierced grille with side hinges that work perfectly, allowing the sacred image inside to be closed or revealed.

Iconography: At the center is housed a small vintage holy card depicting the Virgin of the Revelation (Madonna delle Tre Fontane, Rome). An interesting detail for devotees and collectors of Roman-themed items.

Ornamental Details: The altar base features the Christological monogram IHS engraved in a central medallion, flanked by scrollwork decorations. There are also two small stylized vases with red details that simulate floral arrangements.

Versatility: The design easily permits replacing the inner image with another photograph or holy card of your choice, making it a customizable piece.

Condition and Dimensions:
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The patina of time on the metal underscores its authenticity and historic charm. Solid structure and intact mechanisms.

Measurements: Compact and delicate, ideal for a display case or a small devotion space: 4 x 9.4 cm.

Why add it to your collection?
This altar is not just a religious object but a small jewel of metal craftsmanship from the last century. Perfect for collectors of sacred memorabilia, vintage lovers, or as a symbolic gift of great historical value.
