First edition of Alle de wercken by Jacob Cats (1655), a Dutch leather-bound edition published by J. J. Schipper, comprising 1526 pages in good condition.

All the works of the Lord Jacob Cats, Schipper edition, the first edition of the collected works of Jacob Cats from 1655. With many dozens of beautiful engravings and emblems.
Title:
All the works, old as well as new, of Sir Jacob Cats, Knight, Old Grand Pensionary of Holland and West Friesland, etc. Amsterdam, Schipper, 1655.
Original title-page vignette / page is missing, apparently already in the 19th century replaced by a typographic title. Otherwise complete and in good condition, except for a tear or stain here and there, normal wear for a book of this size and age. In total more than 1400 pages, weight over five kilos.
