Description
This work presents an equestrian portrait of great intensity and elegance, where the horse emerges from a dark, almost theatrical background. The lighting directs the gaze to the head and neck, highlighting the musculature and the contained tension of the animal, which seems suspended between calm and alert.

The treatment of light is key: reflections on the coat create an almost sculptural effect, while warm hues contrast with the depth of the background, reinforcing the sense of presence. The detail in the gaze conveys character and sensitivity, moving away from a simple representation to approach an emotional study of the animal.

The composition, clean and direct, isolates the subject and makes it the absolute protagonist, evoking classical tradition in the equestrian portrait but with a contemporary execution. Alejandro Carballosa, Cuban visual artist and designer residing in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensitivity of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been presented in collective and individual exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
