R.Robin - Flor quieta (XL)

I work this piece as a suspended space between memory and perception, where the landscape is not a physical place but an emotional state. At the bottom I build a dense, almost tangible field, from repeated, organic gestures that evoke a diffuse vegetation, as if memories that accumulate and are rewritten continuously. On this territory, I introduce a minimal figure —a barely suggested flower— that rises with fragility, crudely and directly drawn, almost like a superimposed drawing. For me, that tension between the pictorial and the linear marks a boundary: between lived experience and thought, between matter and idea.

The upper plane, crossed by a chromatic transition from blue to pink, functions as a luminous threshold, a timeless space that does not belong to the sky nor the background, but to a more abstract dimension. This is where I place the conceptual axis of my work: the “home” as a stable identity dissolves and gives way to the “garden,” understood as a changing, emotional, and permeable environment. This work dialogues with that constant duality in my language: the structural versus the organic, the contained versus the expansive. I seek for the viewer not to read an image, but to inhabit that transition, that silent limit where everything is in the process of becoming something else.

About R.Robin

Robinson Rodríguez García is a visual artist, theatre designer, and drawing professor, born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and resident in Spain. He graduated in 2003 from the Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, developing an artistic practice centered on painting and the contemporary language, where abstraction, geometry, and a strong symbolic load converge. Between 2003 and 2005 he taught drawing workshops at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech School of Art Instructors, and between 2006 and 2009 he worked as a costume and set designer for the Santa Clara Provincial Council of Performing Arts, an experience that decisively influenced his spatial and formal conception within the visual arts.

His work has been shown in several solo exhibitions in Cuba, notably at the Provincial Gallery of Art and in institutional spaces in Santa Clara. He has also participated in important group exhibitions and international fairs, including Art Basel Miami, group exhibitions in France, and contemporary art events in the Americas and Europe. In 2017 he participated in art fairs in Mexico. His career is complemented by studies and international workshops related to stage design and visual creation, consolidating a multidisciplinary artistic profile that dialogues between painting, space, and contemporary symbolic experience.

About preparation and packaging:

The work is signed by the artist R. Robin and comes with its corresponding certificate of authenticity, likewise signed. The canvas will be shipped rolled up and protected in a professional cardboard tube, ensuring its proper conservation during transport. The shipment will be made within a maximum of three business days from confirmation of purchase, and the delivery time will depend on the selected courier company.
