Description from the seller

The growing importance of Aket in the art world was reinforced when he was selected by Coca-Cola for their global MASTERPIECE campaign as well as the 8.6 limited edition urban art campaign, thus confirming his status as a reference in artistic circles. Aket Kubic continues to engage in an experimental and playful approach to art, using his creations to explore and present personalities and subjects with a style close to cubism. His unique approach to daily life and cubism, combined with his playful experimentation, ensures him a top place in contemporary art.

This piece is part of the artist's solo exhibition, entitled "Almost Ordinary Moments".

Aket Kubic takes us into the heart of a cubist universe where reality is decomposed and reassembled through geometric shapes. The artist leads us into a visual choreography where colors clash and harmonize. Like a journey, each work becomes an adventure, a bold exploration of the dimensions of the imagination. The dynamic scenes, populated by stylized figures each bearing the imprint of a unique expression captured in angular lines. In the image of Verne’s inventions that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, Aket Kubic’s works invite us to rethink our own realities, to see magic in the details.

It is provided with a handmade frame. (the wooden handle is detachable)

TEXT OF THE WORK :

A work on the theme of Jules Verne and "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea".

The true story of a sailor lost at sea often evokes themes of survival, hope and resilience. One of the most well-known accounts is that of Hugh Edwards, a British sailor. In 1979, he became lost at sea after his boat capsized.

After the accident, he finds himself isolated in a small lifeboat, with no food or drinking water. Days pass, and he must face extreme conditions, including the intense heat of the sun and storms. Through his ingenuity, he manages to collect rainwater and fish for nourishment.

Ultimately, after about 76 days at sea, he is rescued by a passing vessel, weakened but alive. His story has inspired many books and films, highlighting the human struggle to survive in the face of adversity.
