Description from the seller
- Artwork "Failure is not an option" Omega Speedmaster"
- Number 07/30
- Artwork signed/numbered by the artist SKE delivered with certificate of authenticity.
- Description: Clock in metal and glass, perfectly functional, ultra-silent mechanism. Wall mountable.
- Diameter 40 cm.
- Artistic description: This contemporary art piece, presented as an XXL wall clock of about 40 cm, is a bold and playful reinterpretation of the famous Omega Speedmaster Professional chronograph watch, often nicknamed the "Moonwatch." It fuses the luxury watchmaking universe with the aesthetics of Street Art and Pop Art by the artist SKE.
Main Theme: A homage to the partnership between Snoopy and Omega related to the NASA Silver Snoopy Award, awarded to Omega for its contribution to space mission safety.
Dial Design: The dial faithfully reproduces the codes of the Speedmaster "Moonwatch" in panda version (white background, black subdials).
The famous drawing of Snoopy as an astronaut is visible in the left subdial.
The emblematic motto of the Apollo 13 mission, "FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!" (Failure is not an option!), is inscribed at the center of the dial, recalling the crucial role of the Speedmaster.
Other inscriptions specific to this edition are also present, including the question "WHAT COULD YOU DO IN 14 SECONDS?" (What could you do in 14 seconds?), a nod to the 14-second engine burn manually performed by the Apollo 13 crew.
Dimensions: Its XXL format (40 cm) transforms it from a simple timekeeping instrument into a striking wall art piece, ideal for horology enthusiasts, pop culture fans, and Street Art lovers.
Artistic Style:
The work sits at the crossroads of Pop Art (through the use of an iconic comic character) and Street Art (through its graphic treatment and the desire to turn a classic luxury object into an accessible and decorative item). It fits the trend of artists who revisit luxury brands and cultural icons.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist with a versatile approach who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic output.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with double meaning, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional 2025, SKE's market value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize in Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October; he has also been featured in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE is also making a mark in the digital artworks market, a major trend in the last two years, enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture play characterize a style now essential.
SKE is undeniably an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Artist Rated & Awarded – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
AN UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work fits into a prestigious lineage. His line shows the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they reimagine the classics, not hesitating to reinterpret the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to juxtapose with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and superheroes is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), to Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with the codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the aesthetic of "Hype": you encounter the sneaker universe (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not forgetting mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textures that recall the polished finish of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your interior.
