Description from the seller

Art Deco Silver-Plated Caviar Server with Blue Crystal Insert – Durousseau & Raynaud, Lyon, c. 1930

An elegant and rare Art Deco caviar server by the distinguished French silversmith Durousseau & Raynaud, crafted in Lyon around 1930.

This refined table piece perfectly reflects the geometric sophistication of the Art Deco period, combining luxurious materials with functional design.

The server features a removable blue crystal insert, designed to hold caviar, while the space beneath allows for ice, ensuring optimal cooling — a hallmark of authentic caviar service pieces.

The elegant twin handles, stepped base, and finely detailed lid with finial emphasize both practicality and decorative appeal. The contrast between the polished silver-plated body and the deep blue crystal adds a striking visual presence.

Dimensions
Height: approx. 18 cm
Length (handle to handle): approx. 17 cm
Diameter (crystal insert): approx. 11.5 cm

Very good antique condition with light signs of use consistent with age. The silver plating remains attractive, and the crystal insert is well preserved.

Clearly stamped with the maker’s mark of Durousseau & Raynaud, confirming its origin in Lyon, France.
DR an a presse.

Originally intended for serving caviar over ice, this piece can also be used as:
A luxury serving bowl for delicacies
A refined bonbon or sugar container
An eye-catching display object
