In my version, David no longer wields Goliath's head…
He holds the head of a bear, a symbol of innocence, a pop icon, a reassuring mascot.
Because in our era, we don’t topple giants; we decapitate symbols.

Caravaggio's chiaroscuro against the absurd gentleness of a bear who doesn’t understand what’s happening to it.
Both funny, unsettling, and a little tragic.
