The artist was born in Suhl in 1957. His artisanal foundations were acquired from 1980-1984 at the Academy of the Leipzig University of Graphic Arts and Book Printing (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig). He lives and works near Leipzig. In 2009 he was admitted as a self-taught artist into the Bund Bildender Künstler Leipzig, which he left again in 2021 because of the gendering of the language there. The painter regularly exhibits in several smaller galleries in and around Leipzig, and often works as Artist in Residence near Arta.
