Fragments of the Soul Yokai explores the boundary between human identity and inner dark forces.
Inspired by Japanese mythology, notably the figure of Izanami, associated with death and transformation, the series evokes a gradual descent toward a more instinctive part of the being.

The Oni masks appear as extensions of the face, embodying extreme emotions and revealing a deep duality between control and chaos.
Each work represents a fragment of this inner transformation: from awakening to confrontation, up to metamorphosis.

The style, raw and gestural, mixes abstraction and portraiture to convey a constant tension, almost physical.
This series does not depict outer demons, but an inner struggle, that between what one shows and what exists within oneself.
