About the artist
Born in Havana in 1972, Alonso is a Cuban-Spanish visual artist whose career links cinema, photography and the contemporary image. Trained in Madrid, he began in cinema as a director’s assistant and cameraman, collaborating notably with Bertrand Fèvre, Pedro Almodóvar and José Luis García Sánchez. This foray into cinema permanently shapes his relationship to the frame, to silence and to rhythm. Based in Arles, he now develops a visual body of work present in private collections in Europe, Asia and the United States.
