This is an oil painting on a type of Carmine red paper with a gloss effect created by tiny grains barely visible inherent to the paper.
I am Barbara Bartolomei. I create paintings addressing a variety of themes such as portraits, the human figure and animals, landscapes, still life, sacred art, and fantasy compositions. My painting technique unfolds through several specific stages of work as taught by the masters of the Florentine Renaissance, creating oil compositions while experimenting with different supports.
I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the Sacred Art School in Florence. I am a painting lecturer for adults, a tutor in international master programs, and an instructor for summer courses for Italian and foreign students.
