In the Netherlands she is also a well-known draftsman and painter, having been a pupil of Alfred Bastien and Emil Pottner in Berlin.[3] She also lived for some time in Sloten/Sloterdijk together with artist Rachel van Dantzig, who had a house/studio built there.
She was the daughter of Amsterdam-born Hendrik Plato (a clerk at the post) and Maastricht-born Elisabeth Mathilda Helena Roqué
Alice Plato, as a singer, gave the premiere on 27 October 1915 of Berceuse (Le seigneur a dit à son enfant) by Alphons Diepenbrock.
