Valeria Pesce's original oil painting ACQUE GELIDE on canvas, 19 × 27 cm, created in 2023, hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity, oil and acrylic on canvas stretched over a 2 cm wooden frame, unframed, from Spain, depicting koi and water in a contemporary animal-themed scene.
Description from the seller
ICED WATERS
The koi carp, these elegant Japanese fish, drift lightly with their sinuous movements in crystal-clear waters. The fish as a universal archetypal element, as a link between diverse worlds, as an expression of the flow of life and of emotions. Fast and fleeting like clouds and thoughts, they embody the delicate balance between serenity and vital impulse. The green water that contains them, an amniotic space in constant motion. I am interested in the boundary between the real world and the surreal world of my ever-transforming aquatic landscapes.
Oil-painted fish on a background painted with acrylic.
The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame 2 cm in diameter.

ABOUT ME
Born in Italy, on the island of Sardinia, in 1963, after stints in New York to study graphic design and then in Milan, I moved to Barcelona in 1991 to work as a graphic designer and here I began my artistic career which over time has become my profession, my passion and above all a vital necessity.
I have held solo and group exhibitions in several European cities and my works are in various private collections around the world.
My work is deeply rooted in nature and human emotions; my star theme is water and fish, two visual universes that share an intense symbolic power. The fascination with the fluidity and dynamism of water acts as the through line of my creations and symbolizes constant transformation.
