Ricardo Gomez De Cadiz – The Thinker, acrylic on canvas, original unique signed work, 60 × 50 cm, 2026, Cubist portrait in multicolor with UV-protective varnish, ready to hang on wooden stretcher, origin Spain, authenticity certificate included.
Description from the seller
This painting by Ricardo Gómez de Cádiz engages with Cubism from a fresh, deliberately playful perspective. The figure, built from chromatic planes and taut geometries, recalls the boldness with which Picasso disassembled the human face to rebuild it as a visual enigma. Here, however, the fragmentation does not seek the analytical severity of early Cubism, but a vibrant expressiveness: saturated colors, thick lines, and the contrast between stripes and blocks create a nearly musical rhythm. The character seems to emerge between worlds — between the mask and the gesture, between abstraction and identity — becoming a chromatic witness that observes and allows itself to be observed.
Among his major influences are Van Gogh, Mondrian, Dalí, Picasso, Modigliani, Pollock, Klimt, Kandinsky, and Monet.
His paintings are part of private collections in more than 25 countries, including Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Croatia, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Romania, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Mexico, Argentina, and others.
