Cor Schaap (1968) - Strandgezicht

A beautifully fine small oil painting by the Dutch impressionist Cor Schaap (born 1968), an artist born and raised in the fishing village of Katwijk aan Zee. Working a short distance from the coast, he creates his oil paintings, in which local and regional subjects are central. His work encompasses both contemporary scenes and historical figures and arises both in the studio and en plein air.

Schaap's paintings are increasingly appreciated, also by an international audience. They form part of the collection and are sold through renowned galleries, including Galerie Gabriëls on Noordeinde in The Hague, a well-known art dealer of masterpieces since 1974.

The cheerful, summery painting, titled Playing Children on the Beach of Katwijk aan Zee in front of the Andreaskerk, is framed in a lovely gold frame and can be hung on the wall."
