Lorenzo Delleani (1840-1908), Attrib. - Pastorella

A fine oil painting on a wooden panel of Piedmontese school attributed to master Lorenzo Delleani. The work is signed and dated at the bottom right, while on the back is the text "The characteristics of the painter L. Delleani's work are found in this painting both in the way of painting and in the color", signed by a certain Ariste, or Aristeo, and an unreadable surname. It could be Aristeo Giulia, restorer of the period and connoisseur of Delleani's work, or Ariste Civelli, a contemporary of Delleani and also a member of the Albertina Academy and of the Circolo degli Artisti in Turin. The painting is sold without a frame. The work is in good condition, though it shows a slight curvature due to the support material, and it is noted that the extreme top left edge has lost part of its pigmentation.
