Chinese Carpets – Elegance and Tradition from the Middle Kingdom

Origin and History
The history of Chinese carpet weaving goes back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD). Especially in western China, for example in the Ningxia region, or later in Beijing, intricate carpets emerged, often for the imperial court. From the 19th century, Chinese carpets gained increasing international significance and were exported to Europe and America.
