Jonathan Wain presents Tulips - NO Reserve, an original 2026 acrylic painting on paper with spray paint, signed and dated, 48 × 63 cm, shipped rolled from Spain with a COA and framing not included.
Description from the seller
This striking mixed-media work on paper by Jonathan Wain presents a bold and contemporary interpretation of a classic floral still life. In Tulips, the artist combines acrylic paint with expressive layers of spray paint to create a composition that feels both spontaneous and carefully orchestrated.
A vibrant bouquet of tulips emerges from a loosely defined glass vase, rendered with energetic, gestural brushstrokes. Deep burgundy and bright yellow blooms contrast vividly against sweeping green stems, while soft accents of white and pale pink add texture and depth. The translucent vase is suggested through fluid, minimal lines, grounding the composition while maintaining a sense of lightness.
The background, built up with diffused sprays of pastel greens, pinks, and yellows, introduces a dynamic, almost atmospheric quality. These layers interact with the more deliberate brushwork, giving the piece a contemporary edge that bridges street art influences with traditional still life painting.
Executed on paper, Tulips showcases Wain’s confident use of color, balance, and mark-making. The work radiates freshness and immediacy, making it an eye-catching addition to modern interiors or contemporary art collections.
