Original artwork by Natalie Ulmann, titled Gold Tension (2026), an acrylic and mixed-media work on canvas with a metallic red surface, 112 cm square rolled; stretched size 100x100x4 cm; signed on the back; in excellent condition; shipped rolled without a frame, with certificate and insurance.
Description from the seller
This work "Gold Tension" presents a multilayered, gold surface with a pronounced cracklé effect on untreated canvas. The texture arises from stresses in the material and forms an organic network of fine cracks and relief-like condensations. The untreated canvas remains consciously visible in parts, providing a calm contrast to the metallic-looking surface. This creates a tension-filled relationship between rawness and refinement. Depending on the incidence of light, the perception of the gold tone changes noticeably—from warm, matte nuances to intensely reflective, almost metallic patches. The gold tones used appear not decorative, but possess a deep, material presence.
The work unfolds its effect especially in open spaces, where light and distance bring out the structure and reflections.
Framed size (stretched): 100 cm x 100 cm x 4 cm
Rolled: 112 cm x 112 cm
Made on high-quality, heavy-duty canvas, 380 g/m²
Due to the size, to keep shipping affordable and to promote sustainability, the painting will be rolled without a frame in a sturdy cardboard shipping tube, safely and professionally packaged. Shipping insurance and tracking number included.
The canvas can be easily unrolled again and, if desired, re-framed by a professional. The Schatenfugenrahmen is not included.
The artwork is signed on the back by me; an authenticity certificate is also included. Photo documentation was taken under different light sources. Minor color variations may occur depending on monitor settings.
In structurally formed cracks in such artworks, these are not defects but part of the creation process — they belong to the work and shape its individual structure and expressiveness.
