Murano Millefiori glass paperweight from 1970–1980, Italy, in good vintage condition with a small chip to the side of the dome, featuring a cobalt blue central cane encircled by white starburst millefiori canes with red and yellow centres, and an outer ring of deep amethyst ribbed canes with suspended air bubbles under a clear dome.
Description from the seller
A striking Murano glass paperweight dating to the 1970s, showcasing the timeless elegance and technical mastery of Venetian glassmaking. The composition is centred around a bold cobalt blue cane, encircled by finely detailed white starburst millefiori canes with vibrant red and yellow centres, creating a crisp and highly decorative geometric arrangement.
The outer ring is formed by deep amethyst-toned ribbed canes, adding richness and contrast to the design, while small suspended air bubbles introduce an additional layer of visual interest and depth. The clarity of the glass dome enhances the intricate internal pattern, magnifying the precision of the cane work.
A classic and highly collectible example of Murano millefiori glass, appreciated for its strong colour contrast and balanced composition.
Good vintage condition. There is a small chip to the side of the dome, perceptible to the touch, as shown in the photographs. Otherwise well preserved, with minor age-related surface wear.
An elegant and decorative collector’s piece, combining traditional Venetian craftsmanship with bold, graphic appeal.
