Multiple figures emerge from deep blue in a horizontal expanse - all back-facing, each holding a distinct posture, their forms carved from a single saturated foundation through paint removal alone. Some stand upright, others carry a curve or tilt that sets them apart, the variations in stance giving the group an unscripted quality, as though caught rather than arranged. VANTA has drawn each figure from the same blue ground, the removal work shifting in character between them - tighter where anatomy demands it, broader where figures dissolve back into the field they came from.
The back-facing orientation unifies them without making them identical. Represented by S-Gallery and available on Catawiki. Each withholds its face while offering its posture as the sole expression available - the way weight is carried, the set of shoulders, the particular angle of a head. Together they populate the wide canvas as a quiet gathering, present to each other in ways that remain opaque to the viewer standing behind them all.
The single blue holds everything - figures, space, shadow, and the darkness between forms - the entire range of the work achieved through how much has been taken away and how much remains.
